Kind Gesture

I work in a nursing home, and we cannot accept any type of gift from a resident. Only if the gift is food/candy, etc. We’ve had residents try and give cash/gift cards. Even from their family members, and we cannot accept them. I understand it’s their way of being appreciated of us, and we are appreciated by them for thinking of us. Unfortunately, we have to report it to our supervisor. The goodies they give us throughout the year though are pretty good tho! lol

We are not supposed to take gifts from patients .. at least under where I work , but at the same time the patients feel insulted when I do not take it .. . I take it and thank them , even if the gift I silly . They appreciate what I do for them ..
